Wines of Chile 2013 AwardThe winners of the 2013 Annual Wines of Chile Awards were released today after 3 days of blind tasting in Santiago, Chile.

The top award went to Viña Errazuriz with their Don Maximiano Founder’s Reserve 2010; a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Carmenere and Cabernet Franc.

Errazuriz owner, Eduardo Chadwick says “It’s really a great honour – we are Erraz Don Maxtrying to show finesse and quality from Chile and our winemaker and the team are key in doing that. I am really pleased that their efforts have been recognized in this way.”

The wine also scooped the Best Premium Red award category.

Thanks for the update. Very excited to see Oveja Negra on the list and others that I know/sell such as; Cono Sur, Santa Carolina with a Moscato at that!
    Regards.

    • I’m a huge fan of Errazuriz wines, used to constantly talk about them to my old customers. Con Sur, again a good winery considering the bulk they produce. I’ve only had Oveja Negra Sauvignon Blanc – Carmenere before. Very light, a bit disappointing really.
