Wine Australia is to host a specialist seminar looking at the various styles of Semillon the country can now produce at Australia House in London on September 18.
Sem Sem, the Semillon Seminar will look at both regional differences and how the variety has evolved over several vintages and look to demonstrate how well it can age over the years.
The event will be chaired by wine writer Richard Hemming, and will include talks from Australian winemaker Bruce Tyrell and fellow wine writer Jamie Goode. Luke Robertson, head sommelier at The Ledbury will also give his take on how well Australian seminar performs against food.
It will include a tasting of 14 wines from different regions and vintages and there will be a free pour tasting of a larger selection of Semillons from 3pm before the main tasting gets underway between 4pm and 6.30pm.
