Family owned Australian wine company De Bortoli Wines has released a new
range, BellaRiva, which will be launched today, August 25, live online.
Following the launch in Australia and mirroring a successful online tasting, De Bortoli Wines will be hosting an exclusive live virtual tasting for UK wine journalists and wine industry figures at 11.30am.
To further highlight De Bortoli’s commitment in embracing social media to better interact with consumers, both of these wines have a QR code on the back label. Once scanned with a smart-phone the user will be taken to a tasting video with Steve Webber.
Leanne De Bortoli, said: “These are also our first range of wines to use a QR code on the back-label so we decided that it seemed only fitting to launch them in a slightly offbeat online way.
“When we hosted the online launch with Australian wine media in June, it was very successful even though Steve and I were complete novices at introducing wines this way.
“Because of the success of that launch and perhaps feeling a little more confident, we are now hosting a consumer online tasting whereby we are encouraging customers to buy a bottle of each, log onto U-stream and join Steve and I in an interactive tasting.
“They will be able to make comments and ask questions via U-stream, twitter and Facebook.”
Leanne De Bortoli and her husband, head winemaker, Steve Webber wanted to produce a range with “grown up” blends that are dry, savoury, interesting and proudly medium-bodied and more about style than variety.
The new range of wines celebrates both the natural beauty of the King Valley and the vibrancy and innovation of this emerging wine region.
BellaRiva in Italian means beautiful riverbank – a fitting description for the spectacular location of De Bortoli’s picturesque vineyards on 3.5km’s of King River frontage.
The exclusive attendees will log on to the website and join Steve and Leanne in tasting the two new wines.
Once logged into Ustream, guests will be able to interact with Steve and Leanne via Ustream or their Twitter or Facebook profiles to ask questions or make comments.
