Chateau Clement Termes Gaillac 2010

Chateau Clement Termes Gaillac

Chateau Clement Termes 2010

Gaillac – South West France

Grape Variety – Mauzac, le Loin de L’Oeil

ABV – 12%

Watery clear colour. On the nose, pineapple, cream, candied tinned fruit. Palate is dry with light notes of elderflower and pear. Good acidity and decent length with clean, fresh, citrus finish.

Another one of my lovely customers has been raving about this wine for sometime now. I thought it was from a biased perspective, she lives right by the estate. It’s always good to be proven wrong. I’m not sure whether I’ve had a Gaillac in the past. A lot of wine tastings over 16 years, be surprised if I hadn’t, just probably never written anything down. I’m a big fan of wines from South West France, more noted with their reds than whites.

With the Spring chill turning to the Summer sun this is a superb wine at a very good price. The aromas are very prominent. It is one of those wines where you can stick your nose in the glass and inhale. The pineapple just leaps out, and then keeps leaping. The light fruit you should experience keeps it sitting around your mouth at your pleasure.

This wine is ideally suited for summer drinking.

Drink on its own, as an aperitif or with light dishes.

£8.99 from North and South Wines.

Supplier Cave de Pyrene.
