Wines from Rioja in sampling push

Wines from Rioja has joined up with this year’s London Restaurant Festival as official wine partner to sample Rioja wines to thousands of consumers.

Over the two week festival, wines from Rioja will be served at a number of official festival events including The Big Quiz and the London Restaurant Festival Debate.

The generic body will also be serving its wines at the Festival awards, which champions the best menus and venues as voted by the public, and will be working with Spanish restaurants to create Rioja and tapas matched menus.

Now in its third year, the Festival will run from October 3-17.

Anna Harris-Noble, account director for the UK office of Wines from Rioja, said: “Since its inception in 2009 the London Restaurant Festival has become one of the key fixtures in London’s gastronomic calendar and we’re sure that Riojan wines will be popular with the 50,000 people who will be enjoying the programme of events. With the popularity of Spanish food and wine soaring, it is a great opportunity to highlight the diversity and quality of Riojan wines to consumers in the capital.”
