I’ve put New York in as an example of a progressive wine region. We already know about California. Reports from Long Island suggest that the wines are showing potential to match Bordeaux.

Other key States are Oregon and Washington. Most states produces wine but not on a mass commercial level for export.

The USA also produce grape varieties for the production of wine and raisins from indigenous vine species, hence the notation at the top of the page stating ‘European Varieties.’ I’ll explain this in a later blog.
